It is really quite simple to balance your propeller. In fact you will not be balancing your propeller at all. What you will be doing is balancing the fly wheel or stater ring on your engine which has the propeller attached. That is if you have a Lycoming engine which I am willing to bet you do. With our little machine you do a test run and the computer picks up the RPM with a sensor that you attach to one of your forward upper case bolts. This sensor also has an accelerometer in it that measures the amplitude of vibrations and records and expresses them in degrees of azimuth for a given RPM, usually 2300 or 2400 RPM. Once you have this simple reading you attach a bolt with washers on the flywheel (the holes are already there) as indicated by the computer and do another test run. You repeat this process until you are happy with the results. I got mine one the first try and it is very noticeably smoother.
