We have a quite a bit of good reading literature up in the library and I have a few books that I have purchased, and continue to purchase that I would like to add. Just as we have the tool inventory with check in and check out I think it would be great if we had one for the books. I'm somewhat hesitant to drop my books there as I feel that they will be underutilized or will turn up missing. Anyone in support of this / think it would be worthwhile?

You are correct sir, we have a very nice set of reference material up there in the Tom Walsh Learning Center.  You pose a good question about your books.  I suppose you could register them in the tool inventory or I could have another copy of the program installed that would keep track of our reading inventory.  The question is would it be "worth," the trouble to make it happen?  Someone would have to maintain the inventory, nobody does that now.  If someone would like to step forward it would be a commendable of them to do so.  It would certainly benefit others and that is always a good idea.  Any takers?  The other side of the coin is you can really get all the reference material on any subject from around the world and through out history on the world wide web, think about it.  I'm just sayin.

I would be willing to develop and maintain a library directory, provided someone can show me how this can be computerized and added to the website.  Bill's point about information being available on the web is well taken, but I've found it's still often easier to look stuff up in a book, and books often go into greater depth than the web does.
