EAA 582 lost a special member and friend.  Tom Doty, husband of Chris Keast Doty.

Tom was always a helping hand at every event, days before the event, and days after for clean up.  Ron, Shirley, Chris and Tom were a team that you could always,

always count on for any Chapter event.

Our sincere sympathy goes out to Chris and her family.

Kathy and I are so sorry to hear about Tom, we certainly enjoyed what Tom and Chris added to our life. Tom was somewhat quiet but certainly upbeat, he always joked and I never heard him speak in a negative manner.

What I enjoyed most about Tom was the Affection and Love he shown for Chris, they were soul mates always concerned about one another, a couple that enjoyed just being together, loving life. After their wonderful Wedding I never saw them apart, always helping one another. Tom would be so excited about going places with his Chris and couldn’t wait to start planning for the next experience together..Chris would ask me if I would take Tom rides in the Navion because she knew he enjoyed aviation but he didn’t want to bother one of us by asking. I was touched when she worked at the Chapter Events and always being concerned about his happiness, continually checking on him to see if she could make his time with her more enjoyable …they loved one another deeply.

I will miss Tom and the life experiences he has taught us.

My condolences to Chris and her family.  Although I didn't know him as well as other people did, I do remember seeing him at the EAA events.  He was always helping and getting involved.  I've been sitting at the front gate for years at Plane Fun.  I'll always remember Tom driving that people mover up and down and all over the place.  The last time I saw him he was still on the move... although a little bit slower.  He was going for a balloon ride.  I'll remember him as a guy that didn't set still.
